WORD STUDY:
Using the Frayer Model Diagram, select five vocabulary words from your study guide and complete the following: definition, characteristics(synonym), examples/sentence(s), non-examples (antonym). Comprehension: On page 55, Elana mentions that her father had more motives in investing her as an agent than she originally thought. What is she referring to? Do you think it was a good idea for Elana's father to invest her?
Elana appears to be second-guessing her decision to get involved throughout the chapter. Why? Use specific evidence from the text.
Reflection: On page 74, Elana's father says, "Elana, fear isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a natural result of aiming high." Do you agree? Do you think fear can be a good thing? What does Elana's father mean when he says that it is a natural result of aiming high?
The Andrecians are terrified of a dragon. To the Imperials, what is the dragon? How is it possible for two groups of people to see the same object and form such different perceptions of it?

Description (Please read syllabus for more detailed information):
Using the “Seedfolks” format, students will create their own “Larchmont Folks” chapter. Larchmont Charter School being the garden, and you, the student, being the seed, share about an experience you have had at Larchmont Charter school. The experience should be one of “connection” to the community.
As in “Seedfolks”, a black and white illustration must be included at the top of your chapter.
